Diabetic Eye Problem Prevention

Studies have found that the following regimen of supplements can help prevent diabetic eye problems:

            Vitamin E          400IU per day
            Selenium           200mcg per day
            Vitamin C          500-1,000mg per day
            Beta Carotene  10,000 IU per day (non-smokers only)

Bilberry
Contains anthocyanosides that are powerful antioxidants which can improve overall capillary health and protect the retina of the eye from abnormal blood vessel intrusion. It also helps protect against capillary thickening which is common in diabetics. Reduces tendency of blood vessels in the retina to hemorrhage.

Magnesium

A deficiency contributes to small blood vessel damage. Most diabetics are deficient in magnesium.

Other effects:                  Too many to list
Possible side effects:    Forms other than Magnesium gluconate can cause diarrhea
